Rules are rules but were you expecting caceido shove guehi cause he literally pushed him to give way without that push it wouldn't have gotten into the net cheating tactics just like arsenal Conner kick
It was a good match, even taking the ball procession in mind. 70% to 30% shows that opposition team sat home packing the bus. As per the free kick, the rule was not made during the match , it has been in existence before that match. So applying the rule was the right thing to do.
Thanks for the comment Michael. I do think that Palace were in a very good defensive shape. They have a good record in recent games against top teams and that is for a reason. They have also had a much bigger pre-season than Chelsea.
I think we will see a different Chelsea Friday night, away from home will allow us to create those spaces, in fact I'll say 1-4 then onwards and upwards from there.

Exactly, Alex. I think people were surprised because we haven't seen similar decisions before but in isolation it was definitely right.

I agree with all of that. Chelsea came up against an organised team and could not break them down, credit to Palace.
The free kick decision was right, it just doesn't get used very much!
Why buy exciting young wingers and then play walking football?
We haven't learned anything from last seasons home games against teams and are comfortable defending deep.
Slowly, slowly is not going to create the space to unlock these defences.

Absolutely agree Tom, they were very well organised and extremly comfortable defending deep.
The tempo we played at for majority of game played straight into their gameplan.
I don't expect Chels to play at the pace we did in first half against PSG, but I did expect more than we got.
I think that's completely fair. Chelsea did not pass with any intensity and it was actually very sloppy with missed touches.
Hopefully just early season rustiness!
